Wairere Falls. Kamais, the highest falls in the Kaimai - Mamaku Forest park - Total fall of 153m. From car park in Goodwin Road track leads to a lookout at the base of the falls, then upward to a viewing platform looking down on the falls. Alpine Sports Club Hut, Waitakere's. This trip leaves 8.00am. Self-catering for 3 lunches, 2 breakfasts's, nibbles, tea, coffee etc. Bring food for Saturday and Sunday night Potluck dinners. (Remember there is a fridge and 2 stoves) Bring sleeping bag and pillowslips. Day trips from the hut, so come prepared for good walks or taxing tramps. Great family fun guaranteed.
